Sun exposure is good, but too much of it can cause irritation. Next time you deal with discomfort from too much sun, try this After-Sun Soothing Spray with essential oils. Try making this do-it-yourself blend, it can be used for all sorts of skin irritations: over exposure to the sun, bug bites, minor burns, scrapes, and rashes.
1/2 Cup Of Witch Hazel
2 Tablespoons Of Pure Aloe Vera Gel
10 Drops Of Pure Lavender Essential Oil
10 Drops Of Pure Peppermint Essential Oil
4 oz Glass Spray Bottle
Combine all ingredients and mix well.
Pour into glass spray bottle, shake well, and apply generously to skin that needs cooling.
Be sure to avoid spraying around the eyes as it will sting.
The spray feels a bit sticky at first but it gets better as it dries.
Re-apply as often as needed, I resprayed every half an hour or so at first.
