Cellulite Elimination Bath Recipe

Do you have concerns about cellulite? It’s important to remember that the appearance of cellulite is an indication that the organs of detoxification are not working efficiently. I’m sharing here what I recommended to my clients. Within a few weeks, they noticed a significant improvement in the appearance of the cellulite. Please note that this is not a quick fix, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make some changes that result in improvement!

Let’s start by addressing a few things. Cellulite can be caused by a variety of factors: allergies, toxicity, hormonal changes, endocrine imbalance, lack of oxygenation, fluid/water retention, menstrual factors, and poor lymphatic drainage. Lack of exercise and poor dietary habits—especially fatty foods, sugar, and caffeine—contribute to the formation of cellulite. Other culprits are smoking, excessive alcohol intake, stress, and constipation, which can all play a part in cellulite production.

Although cellulite is a stubborn condition, it can be eliminated with a program that includes:
  • a comprehensive detoxification program
  • a cleansing diet
  • proper exercise
  • purifying baths
  • massage
  • cleansing herbs

Today, I’d like to share with you how to easily and effectively get rid of stubborn fat and cellulite using water and essential oils. The recipe that follows is called the Cellulite Elimination Detox Bath Recipe.I’ve made some modifications to the original recipe, which comes from the book 14-Day Herbal Cleansing, by Laurel Vukovic. In the last few years, I’ve used many recipes from her book for house cleaners and furniture cleaners; they work wonderfully! I love that we have all-natural ways to take care of ourselves and our homes!

Cellulite Elimination Detox Bath Recipe
2 Cups Epsom Salts
1 Cup Baking Soda
5 Drops Juniper Essential Oil
5 Drops Grapefruit Essential Oil
1 Teaspoon Witch Hazel
Fractionated Coconut Oil (or any carrier oil)

You Will Need
A Natural-Bristle Body Brush or Loofah

To prepare the cellulite-reducing bath, fill the tub with comfortably hot water, adding the Epsom salts, baking soda, and fractionated coconut oil (or any carrier oil) while the water is running.

Vigorously dry brush your entire body before entering the tub, paying particular attention to the areas where cellulite tends to accumulate: thighs, buttocks, calves, abdomen, and upper arms.

Dilute the juniper, and grapefruit essential oils in the witch hazel, and add them to the bath water just before entering the tub, dispersing the fragrant oils through the bath water with your hand. Juniper and grapefruit have diuretic and detoxifying benefits, and they are specifically recommended for the treatment of cellulite.

You can intensify the benefits of this purifying bath by performing self- massage on the areas of your body that are affected by cellulite.

To massage areas of soft cellulite, firmly take hold of the fatty tissue, lifting it away from the muscle beneath. Using a twisting and kneading motion, work deeply to bring circulation to these stagnant areas.

For areas of firm cellulite that are difficult to lift away from the muscle beneath, make your hands into fists and vigorously rub the area with your knuckles. Cellulite massage may feel slightly painful. Take care not to bruise yourself, but don’t be afraid to massage firmly.

This is the good part! While massaging, use the power of your mind to visualize the fatty waste deposits of cellulite breaking up and being flushed out of your body. Imagine your entire body smooth, toned, and healthy.

Soak for 20 to 30 minutes, adding hot water as needed to maintain a comfortably hot temperature.

This bath is most effective if you make it hot enough to induce gentle perspiration. Afterward, rinse with cool water, directing a spray of cold water to any cellulite-prone areas to further stimulate circulation.

Your skin should be rosy when you leave the bath, which indicates increased circulation throughout your body. For intensive cellulite detoxification, take this purifying bath twice weekly, or as often as every other night during your cleansing program. Drink a lot of fluids before, during, and after the bath!

Adding “Certified Pure Therapeutic” essential oils in your drinking water is very beneficial. I recommend is Grapefruit essential oil, because grapefruit is an uplifting oil that refreshes and eases a stressed mind and body. Grapefruit oil also encourages elimination of cellular toxins, making it a great everyday oil for treating cellulite and fluid retention. An added bonus of reduction, as it can help to curb excess cravings and binge eating. Add one to two drops to your drinking water to support a healthy metabolism.
