I really enjoy your posts about the essential oils and the natural body product alternatives especially the homemade bath products. Do you use perfume? Don’t they have all kinds of nasty chemicals? Love to hear from you. Kelly xo
I always wear perfume and for many years it was an iconic international branded store purchase. After learning more about the health risks of synthetic perfumes, which contain toxic petroleum and synthetic chemicals, and other carcinogenic ingredients that have been linked to hormone, endocrine, and reproductive system disruptions – I knew I had to start wearing something else. Since my shift to natural, safe and holistic choices I have experimented and worn many natural perfumes devoid of all harmful chemicals. My current favourite is Whisper Blend from Doterra (it’s made completely from essential oils), which I just adore and I receive lots of positive and sweet comments when I am wearing it. Jasmine and Ylang Ylang’s aromas combine with Patchouli, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Bergamot, Labdanum, Vetiver, Hawaiian Sandalwood, and Rose essential oils. While it’s a blend and everyone can purchase it, the Whisper Oil creates its own distinctive and unique fragrance when worn and mixed with our own body’s chemistry. A close friend of mine also purchased a bottle of Whisper, but we both exude different subtle fragrances. I am planning a post on making your own perfume from essential oils in the next few months. Even a mix of your favourite essential oils mixed with a carrier oil applied to your pulse points and heart charkas would be a nice change. On the days I don’t wear Whisper, I wear Rose and Lavender oils mixed in equal portions with fractionated coconut (the fractionated coconut oil is the carrier oil). I have also worn fragrances from Pour Le Monde: 100% Natural Perfumes, Pacifica Perfume, Ganesha’s Garden Solid Perfume and Providence Perfume Company .
