What a week! Both the studio and home have been a mile a minute with new projects, lots of sewing, flower gardening and party planning for next Saturday.
I decided that the studio was in need of some “new” cushions and throw pillows, so out came my sewing machine — but then our living, family and dining rooms looked like they needed a bit of a summer revival as well. 15 covers and several hours later, each room is looking a little lighter and brighter. I purchase antique linens and vintage linen sheets when I can find them, also have a large stash of vintage grain sacks and ticking fabric from collecting over the years, these all pieces have a wonderful patina of softness and age that work well as cushion and pillow covers. Each piece of linen has a story and I am always reminded of the day of purchase or where, like the linens I purchased on a visit to Italy or France, every time I glance at those cushion covers I smile at the memory.
