Not Your Typical Tax Accountant

You are what you will be and not what you have been.

You have a chance each day, each moment to be inspired and to create the version

of yourself and your life that you imagine it to be. ~ Linda J. Spencer

I’m not your typical tax accountant…

Aside from 20 years experience as a CPA, CA and tax specialist. I am an artist, a writer, a poet, a jewellery maker, and I have tattoos – all designed by me. But I don’t have a motorcycle – contrary to what some of my former co-workers had assumed, nor do I want one – I prefer fast cars and rugged 4×4’s.

I’m also not the person I used to be…

Just 3 years ago, I was married, with 2 beautiful boys living in my dream home, had become a published author in an international women’s magazine, and had a dream job managing the North American tax function of a large multi-national corporation. But I wasn’t free…I felt trapped in a relationship that was going downhill, and in a job that was becoming less than challenging…aside from a few seemingly good friendships, I was unhappy. I just knew that more was possible…and with a bolt of awakening (like a 2×4 across the head) following a spiritual retreat in beautiful San Miguel de Allende, Mexico (hosted by the publisher of that magazine I was writing for), three years ago I asked for a divorce and claimed my freedom.

What happened next was beyond anything I could have imagined would happen in such a short amount of time: I got divorced, found love that was beyond anything I had experienced, put myself out of a job (yes, I did that! by creating such efficiency in my role and my department that they no longer needed me), spent 6 months in a personal awakening program that changed my life, travelled to three continents, found soul family all over the world, started my own business and published my story of personal freedom all in the span of 24 months.

I am definitely NOT the same person I was 3 years ago…

Thanks be to God and some great coaching along the way. At the very core, I am a creator, creating art and writing poetry for as long as I can remember. But I also happen to be a really good student with a love for numbers…which lead me to become a tax accountant…and I’m still very much a student today. Learning and development (both professionally and personally) are very important to me and to what I do, and I’m usually enrolled in at least 2 training and development programs at any given time.

I truly believe that in this world of abundance and infinite possibilities, NO ONE should have to struggle to have the life they desire, and that people don’t know what they don’t know.

That is why I am passionate about empowering people with the right knowledge and tools for them to be able to make smart choices in their business to end that struggle with time and money and to create the life they so desire.

With that, I’ll share one tip that I use with my clients when we first start working together to create the business and cash flow they desire: Start with the end in mind. Like any road trip, if you want to be efficient and take the most direct route, the first thing you need to do is to clearly decide where you’re going…think about where you want your business and your life to be in 10 years from now – What do your finances look like? How do you spend your time? How are you relationships? Who is on your team? Who are your clients? What do people say that is so great about working with you or for you? Once you have painted the picture of what you desire, you can start making decisions and taking actions that are aligned with actualizing those desires.

What do you imagine your business or life to be like? I’d love to hear more from you!
