Homemade Air Freshener

I have been systematically trying to cut the toxic chemicals from our home and lives, those spray air fresheners and room deodorizers which are constantly advertised on televison are full of chemicals, this is easy and safe alternative.

What You Will Need

A Canning Jar

Essential Oil

Baking Soda

Pinking Shears

Large Needle

Trace out a circle of fabric larger than the lid – I added 2cm because I wanted the edges to drape over the jar.

Cut around the circle of fabric with the pinking shears.

Pour Baking Soda into your jar – 1/2 full.

Next add about 10-20 drops of the essential oil.

Place the fabric inside the lid and screw it onto the jar.

Using the large needle, carefully poke several holes into the fabric.

Gently shake the jar every few days to refresh the scent and add more oil as needed.

Note – The baking soda needs to be replaced every 3 months.
