Mel Robbins, author of The 5 Second Rule saw an opportunity to change her life with this one very simple tool. The 5 Second Rule is the moment you have an impulse to act on a goal, you must push yourself to act within 5 seconds or your brain will shut down the idea.   Using the five-second window, by counting back from 5-4-3-2-1 allows you to “push yourself forward and be bigger than your excuses.”

That moment of hesitation is the perfect opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and prove to yourself you can do it! What are you waiting for; be more intentional, create new habits, master self-monitoring and self-control and be more effective in your relationships with yourself and others.
