As you are reading this now, I am one very happy mother, my gorgeous youngest son arrived yesterday from Australia!! Just in time for tomorrow’s celebration for my daughter’s 3rd birthday, which we are all looking forward to. This last week has been filled with party planning, getting organized for my son’s arrival and his holiday here in Canada. Pink and white balloons, pink lemonade with frosted watermelon popsicles thanks to some Pinterest inspiration and mini hamburgers with homemade corn relish for the children. While the adults enjoy marinated pork and chicken skewers accompanied by tzatziki and honey soy dipping sauce, brown rice with pineapple pilaf, quinoa and roasted vegetable salad and charcuterie boards with lots of Burning Kiln wine and thirst quenching homemade mint infused tropical fruit punch. And before I forget prepping for the chocolate layered Birthday cake and double chocolate frosted cupcakes……… Next Friday we are celebrating Canada Day so I will be posting on Thursday and taking Friday off to relax, enjoy the local parade and fireworks with my family.
